very delightful, different

Ministry of Absorption, in
cooperation with the Minis-
try of Labor, has recently
established retraining pro-
grams for people intending
to settle -in Israel.
There are currently eight
retraining programs rang-
ing in duration from eight
months to, two years, begin-
ning in October and Novem-
ber 1976. They are: social
work; senior community
center worker; hotel admin-
istration; data processing;
banking and finance; occu-
pational rehabilitation and

1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. salt
11/2 cups cooling oil
1 8-oz. can crushed pineapple -
with juice
11/2 taps. vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups diced bananas
Measure and sift together all
dry ingredients. Dice bananas,
measure and add to dry ingre-
dients along with oil, vanilla,
eggs, pineapple and juice. Stir
mixture well by hand. Pour into
greased tube or bundt pan. Bake
at 350 degrees for about 1 to 11/4
hours.

Bar-Ilan Begins
Overseas Program
RAMAT-GAN — A spe-

cial university program - for
students abroad who com-
plete high school in mid-
winter, has begun at Bar-
Ilan University with the
start of the second semes-
ter. This follows the arrival
of the initial class of 18
students from the United
States, South America and
Australia.
The program which will
last until mid-summer, will
offer a year's study credits.
The new program provides
studies not available abroad
or in Israel to students grad-
uating from high school in
mid-year.

- JERUSALEM (ZINS) —
Some interesting findings
emerged from a survey of
the public mood in Israel,
conducted by the Hebrew
University with respect to
the economic and security
problems of the country.
•A total of 88 percent of
those questioned character-
ized themselves as "very
concerned" or "concerned"
about the economic condi-
tions; 87 percent described
themselves as "concerned"
about the political situation;..
76 percent said that they
were "very concerned" or
"concerned" about the secu-
rity. A further 70 percent
expressed their concern
about social conditions in
the land.
