synagogue. There is a

OAK-WOODS will have its
annual Purim bazaar and
auction 6:30 p.m. Sunday in
the synagogue. The congre-
gation will observe the Fast
of Esther 7 a.m. Monday.
Minha will begin at 8:30
p.m. followed by Maariv and
the Megilla reading. Grag-
gers will be distributed to
children. The Megilla also
will be read at the Shaharit
service 6:45 a.m. Tuesday.
CONG. BETH ABRA-
HAM-HILLEL'S PTO will
hold its annual Purim carni-
val 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the
synagogue. There will be
games and refreshments.
There is a charge. For infor-
mation, call the synagogue,
851-6880. Hebrew school
children will exchange sha-
lakh manot, and morning
classes will present skits
and songs. At 7 p.m. Mon-
day the Megillat Esther will
be read. Services will be con-
ducted by the teen group
and Hebrew school stu-
dents. A family social with
puppet aid talent shows
will follow. Refreshments
will be served. The congre-
gation will sponsor a Purim
dinner-dance 8 p.m. March
20 in the synagogue. Music
will be provided by Sheldon
Rott and his Orchestra, and
dinner will be served. For
dinner-dance reservations,
call the synagogue,

ADAT SHALOM SYN-
AGOGUE will read the
Megillat Esther 7 p.m. Mon-
day in the main sanctuary.
Children are requested to
wear costumes, and clowns
will entertain the children
and explain the Purim
story. Refreshments will be
served following the service,
and Uri Segal and Yakov
Davidovich will provide mu-
sic and instuction for Israeli
dancing. The public is in-
vited.
CONG. BNAI MOSHE
will read the Megillat Es-
ther 7 p.m. Monday in the
synagogue".
CONG. BNAI ISRAEL
of Pontiac will begin Purim
services 7 p.m. Monday in
the synagogue. Rabbi Leon-
ard Berman will conduct the
reading of the Megilla, as-
sisted by Joe .Jacobson and
Leon Sirlin. Maariv will
precede the Megilla reading.
The youth group will con-
duct a Purim carnival and
the sisterhood will provide
traditional refreshments
following services. All are
invited.

Miami U to Offer
Teacher -Program

MIAMI BEACH (JTA) —
A program leading to a
bachelor in education de-
gree with emphasis on Ju-
daic studies will be started
by the University of Miami
School of Education in the
1976-77 academic year to
help meet a long-time short-
age of professionally-
trained teachers for the
area's 50 to 60 Jewish
schools.
Serving South Florida's
250,000 Jews are day
schools, supplementary He-
brew and Sunday schools
and supplementary high
schools of Judaic studies.

LUBAVITCHER CEN-
TER will begin the Fast of
Esther 5:09 a.m. Monday.
Minha will begin at 6:15
p.m. followed at 7:15 p.m.
by the reading of the Megil-
lat Esther. -A masquerade
party for youngsters will be
held at 8 and there will be
Braggers, prizes and refresh-
ments. The Megilla will also
be read 6:45 and 8 a.m.

Celebrations in Israel." The
youth choir will offer musi-
cal selections and pianist
Miriam Schweitzer will ren-
der Purim songs. Abe Berni-
ker will tell Purim stories.

TEMPLE KOL AMI will
have a special family Purim
service 7:45 p.m. March 19
in the temple. The temple
choir, under the direction of
Nathalie M. Conrad, will
offer special musical selec-

tions, and students from the
first grade, will render
Purim songs. The Megillat
Esther will be read, and
children are requested to
come in costume. Graggers
will be distributed, and re-
freshments will be served.
