Wayne State Sociology Prof Will Deliver Beth El Franklin Lecture

Dr. Constantina Safilios-
Rothschild, professor of so-
ciology and director of the
Family Research Center,
Wayne State University,
will present the Leo M.
Franklin Lecture in Human
Relations for 1976 7:30 p.m.
Sunday at Temple Beth El.
Her topic will be "Transi-
tional Changes in the Roles
of Men and Women: New
Advantages and Trade-
Offs."
Established in 1950 by
Temple Beth El in honor of
its late rabbi, Leo M. Frank-
lin, the lectures 'aim to pro-
vide increased knowledge
and better understanding of
the problems of intergroup
relations in American urban

life.
Dr. Safilios-Rothschild is
a graduate of the Agricul-
tural College of Athens,
Greece and has her MS and
PhD degrees in sociology
from Ohio State University.
Her fields of specialization
and interests include com-
parative family sociology,
the sociology of develop-
ment and social change, the
sociology of sex roles, cross-
cultural methodology, com-
parative urban sociology,
comparative sociology of
fertility and the sociology of
disability and rehabilita-
tion.
