married in a recent cere-
mony at Cong. Shaarey Ze-
dek. Rabbis Irwin Groner of
Shaarey Zedek and Jacob
Max of Baltimore, Md., offi-
ciated.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Albert M.
Colman of Santa Barbara
Drive, Southfield. • Parents
of the bridegroom are Dr.
and Mrs. Raynard F. Ruskin
of B-altimore.
The bride wore a:gown of
Alencon lace and ivory silk,
which had a high lace yoke
and long bishop sleeves
cuffed in lace. The fitted
bodice was Empire-styled.
A deep ruffle trimmed in
Alencon lace enhanced the
entire long skirt and train.
The gown was accented with
an Alencon lace headpiece
highlighted with seed pearls
and a fingertip veil. She Car-
ried a cascade of Woburn
Abbey roses.
Mrs. Benjamin Gelman
was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Karen
Ruskin, sister of the bride-
groom, Leslie Greenberg,
Susan Lutz and Sarilyn
Bosner. Ushers were Jon-
athan, Jeffrey and Joel
Colman, brothers of the
bride; Richard Axelrod,
Ronald Meier and James
Blum.
The bride, who attended
the University of Michigan,
is a senior at the University
of Maryland where she is
working toward degrees in
psychology and social work.
Her husband attends the
University of Maryland
Medical School and earned a
degree in mathematics from
U-M.
The couple is living in Bal-
timore, following a • honey-
moon in Nassau, Bahamas.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving Mer-
kovitz of Drayton Plains
announce the engagement
of their daughter Janis Sue
to Larry Roger Shulman,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald
Manko of Bloomfield Hills.
Miss Merkovitz, a gradu-
ate of the University of
Michigan, is a first-year
graduate student at U-M's
social work school. Her
fiance, also a U-M graduate,
attends its law school.
An August wedding is
planned.

(do not use syrup)
1 cup sugar
1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 cup pareve whipping cream
tsp. vanilla
2 baked 9-inch pie shells
CARL'S KOSHER MEAT MKT.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Add strawberries, sugar and
lemon juice. Beat mixture at high
speed for 15 minutes. Whip
cream and vanilla. Gently fold
whipped cream into strawberry-
egg white mixture. Put into pie
shells and freeze. (Do not keep
longer than month to six weeks;
the flavor deteriorates.)
