NY Office Opens
for Jaffa Oranges

NEW YORK — The Ben-
Ezer family, one of the first
to raise, pack and ship Jaffa
oranges has opened an of-
fice in New York City.

The office will facilitate
the shipment of gift cartons
of Jaffa oranges to the
United States and Canada.

screened a dozen patients,"
the surgeon said. "Up to this
point, they have either been
too well or too sick . . ."
The new partial heart is
designed to take over up to
50 percent of the left ventri-
cle's work load when no
other technique is possible,
according to Dr. Kantrow-
itz.
The cigar-shaped tube of
polyurethane plastic,
which comes to a point at
both ends like the bow and
stern of a canoe, will be
sewn into the wall of the
descending aorta.
A tube connected to the
partial heart leads through
the chest wall and connects
with a portable pump, elec-
tric motor and battery.
Dr. Kantrowitz said the
ultimate goal is to miniatur-
ize the pump and motor and
put them inside the chest to-
gether with an already de-
. veloped atomic energy
power source.
