TASTY BAR-B-Q CHICKEN

(We Use Empire Kosher Poultry Only)

BY NORMA BARACH

(Copyright 1976, JTA, Inc.)

This week's recipe makes
an excellent dessert for a
dinner party, appealing
more to the adult palate
than to children. I think the
frosting of rum and coffee is
something special you'll like
to try.

7 extra large egg whites

1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
7 extra large egg yolks
11/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup sweetened strawberry flavored
powder for milk
2 cups flour
3 tsps. baking powder
1/2 cup oil
3 /4 cup water

Mix all ingredients except egg
whites and cream of tartar well. Beat
whites and cream of tartar until stiff.
Fold whites and tartar fluff into yolk
mixture. Bake in ungreased pan at
350 degrees for one hour. Turn over
on a soda-pop bottle to cool.

FROSTING
2 cups pareve whipping cream
3/4 cup confectioners sugar
2 tbsps. instant coffee (don't use
freeze dried)
1 tbsp. light rum
8 whole shelled almonds.

Whip all ingredients together. Us-
ing a serrated knife, cut cake into two
layers. Place frosting between layers
and then put layers together. Frost top
and sides. Decorate with almonds.

JERUSALEM (ZINS) —
Israel's Finance Ministry
announced new regulations
now in effect for tourists
which require visitors to pay
their hotel bills in foreign
currency (i.e., U.S. dollars).
If the tourist wishes to
pay his bill in local currency
(i.e., Israeli pounds) he will
have to add a 25 percent sur-
charge. The object of this
regulation is to discourage
tourists from exchanging
their dollars on the black
market.
