form to fill out in his He-
brew school class to plant a
tree in Israel for the holiday
of Tu b'Shevat . . . With
great enthusiasm, Joey
asked if he could honor any-
one he wanted . . . Passing
up his parents and grand-
parents, the youngster eag-
erly selected the TV charac-
ter, "Fonzie" on the "Happy
Days" show . . . "We guar-
antee," says Roz, "that it

in Israel with so much dedi-
cation. That's what we call a
`devoted fan.' "

Numismatists Pick
Officers and Board

The Israel Numismatic
Society recently elected Is-
aiah Shafir president.
Other officers are Henry
Malter and Phillip Charns,
vice presidents; Dr. Saul
Sugar and Rev. Jim Missil-
dine, secretaries; and Mrs.
Diane Colton, treasurer.
Board of directors in-
cludes Dr. Burton Zack,
Jack Schwartz, Mrs. Kath-
ryn Briggs, Mrs. Florence
Schook, Dr. Marvin Aronov-
itz, Dr. Alex Friedlander,
Dr. Maxwell Hoffman, Mar-
tin Miller, Philip Wechsler
and Sydney Bluestone.
The society meets on the
fourth Tuesday of each
month at 7:30 p.m. at the 10
Mile branch of the Jewish
Community Center.

Comedy Will Open
at Meadow Brook

Oakland University's
Meadow Brook Theater will
present Alan Ayckbourn's
comedy "Relatively Speak-
ing" through Feb. 22.
Performances can be seen
Tuesday - Friday at 8:30
p.m., 6 and 9:30 p.m. Satur-
day and 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are available at
Hudson's or at the Meadow
Brook box office, 337-3300.

NEW YORK — Barton's
Candy Corp. of Brooklyn is
sponsoring a nation-wide
essay contest based on two
themes: "What Would
Moses Say to the United Na-
tions Today?" and "What
Would Thomas Jefferson
Say to the United Nations
Today?"
The contest is open to per-
sons of all ages. Deadline is
