Adat Shalom USY Groups Plan Oneg

Migdal Tzion United Syn-
agogue Youth (grades 9-12)
and Shoresh (grades 8 and
9) of Adat Shalom Syn-
agogue will sponsor a joint
oneg Shabat 8 p.m. today in
the chapel.
The program will focus on

Hashachar Plans
Winter Convention

Hashachar, the Hadas-
sah-sponsored Zionist youth
organization, will have a
mini convention Feb. 6-8 in
the home of Cindy Buchal-

land.
The convention theme will
be "Society in Israel, Ideal
or Reality!" The convention
will include Israeli dancing,
winter sports and kosher
meals. There is a charge.

James L. Weinberg of Har-
rison, NY has been elected
president of the United Jew-
ish Appeal of Greater New
York.
Former Rep. Herbert
Tenzer was elected chair-
man of the board of gover-
nors. Weinberg, who suc-
ceeded William J. Levitt, is
a son of Dr. Harold Wein-
berg, one of the founders of
the UJA.
