The Boones Move to Israel

BY DAVID SCHWARTZ

(Copyright 1976, JTA, Inc.)

No name conjures up
more the spirit of America
than Daniel Boone, the
woodsman who went to the
wilds of Kentucky and
cleared the paths to the
west for the thousands who
were to come and lay the
foundations for the America
of today.

Yes, Daniel Boone has
decided to settle in Israel.
Well, not exactly, but one of
his descendants. The story
was revealed on the Merv.
Griffith TV show.

The Boones who are
Christians just happen to
like Israel and have decided
to move there.

As we have noted, it is a
descendant of Daniel
Boone who is settling in
Israel, but Daniel Boone
himself no doubt would
have approved. He was
himself a haluz, a pioneer
who worked to develop an
undeveloped land as the
Zionists have done. He
helped establish a state —
many states, but there
was, of course, no United
Nations to condemn the es-
tablishment of Kentucky.

Hashachar, the Hadas-
sah-sponsored Zionist youth
movement, is reactivating
its local chapter.

ing, Larry August was
