Help Provide Necessary
Passover Assistance Funds
For Needy in Israel .

SUPPORT THE MIZRACHI MO'OS HITIM CAMPAIGN

Increased Need for Passover Mo'os Hitim
Appeal Described by Local Mizrachi Unit

Economic pressures on Israel resulting from
the current tensions stemming from Arab
threats have increased the need for supplemen-
tary assistance to needy for the approaching
Passover festival, Greater Detroit Mizrachi-Ha-
poel Hamitrachi leaders said this week.

Announcing continuation of the trad;tion of
providing aid to hundreds of needy families in
Israel through the special Mizrachi Mo'os Hitim
fund, Phillip Stollman, local and national Mizra-
chi leader, and Zvi Tomkiewicz, executive direc-
tor of the local Mizrachi office, stated that the
generosity of Detroit Jews in previous years as-
sures them in anticipating increased contribu-
tions to augment a vitally needed fund.

Stollman reported, on the basis of findings on
several very recent visits in Israel, that the
higher cost of living, the inflation and the de-
valuation of the Israel pound have added to the
hardships of a population already under great
stress in an era of economic uncertainties.

"The added needs for proper Pass-

over observance by the less affluent
demands our concern and greater re-
sponse to the -Mo'cs Hitim fund than
ever before," Stollman declared.
"What we provide is supplementary,
but it is vital. We have many
hundreds of needy on our list. We can
not and dare not let them down. We
are confident that generous Detroit
Jewry again will be a leader in com-
passion for the neediest in lirael."

Tomkiewicz pointed out that the supplies will
be secured from the Supersol food markets, and
minimum gifts of $15 are sought. The supply
packages contain all the basic Passover needs.

, Contributions to' the Mizrachi Mo'os Hitim
Fund should be sent to Detroit Mizrachi, 23125
Coolidge, Oak Park, 48237. For information,
call the office, 398-7180.
