session of the Mexican Con-
gress last week.
His remarks, which de-
parted from his pre-
pared text, received a
standing ovation. They
came in the wake of the
unexpected resignationof
Foreign Minister Emilio
0. Rabasa, which may
have been triggered by the
storm of criticism in. the
Mexican press that he
went too far in trying to
mollify Israel.
But some observers at-
tribute Rabasa's sudden de-
parture to a basic trend in
Mexico's foreign policy to-
ward the Third World and
away from the United
States which, sources' say,
was responsible in the first
place for Mexico lining up
with the Arab-Communist-
Third World bloc to identify
Zionism as a form of rae-
ism.

Rabasa, a close friend of
U.S. Secretary of State
Henry Kissinger, an-
nounced his resignation
without giving a reason but
said his decision was "ir-
revocable." Government
sources said he had not been
dismissed.

His successor, appointed
immediately 'after Rabasa's
announcement, is Ambassa-
dor Alfonso • Garcia Robles,
Mexico's permanent repre-
sentative to the UN and the
diplomat who cast Mexico's
controversial vote in the
General Assembly.

Observers cite Mexico's
desire to become the leader
of Third World forces in
Latin America and Echev-
erria's personal ambition
to be President of the Gen-
eral Assembly at its 31st
session next year as the
reason for its UN votes.

sparked the latest antiter-
rorist measures included a
bazooka attack on the Is-
raeli border village of Mar-
galiot. One shell penetrated
two walls in the bedroom of
the Mansour Margani fam-
ily -and exploded in an outer
bathroom causing damage
but no casualties.

In another incident, an
Israeli patrol came under
bazooka and small arms
fire from a car speeding
along a parellel road_on
the Lebanese side of the
border. The hit and ran at-
tack which caused no cas-
ualties, occurred just
south of Misgay. Am.

Larry Warsh, who is
called "the pickel king"
of Raskin-Kitchen Made

ing the recent anti-Zionist

United Nations. .
The firm is now purchas-

Scandal Figure
in Israel Theater

TEL AVIV (JTA) — A
key figure in the 1963 scan-
dal in Britain that led to the
resignation of War Minister.
John Profumo and rocked
the upper echelons of gov-
ernment has begun a new
stage career in Israel.
Mandy Rice-Davies, 30, is
receiving plaudits for her
performance in "Who's Af-
raid of Marriage," a Hebrew
adaptation of the Broadway
stage hit, "The Marriage-
Go-Round."
Miss Rice-Davies, who
came to Israel 10 years ago,
married an Israeli and be-
came a successful restau-
rant owner, plays the part
of a woman who wants to
have the perfect child and
goes about finding the per-
fect father.

Bazooka shells were
aimed at that settlement as
well but caused no casual-
ties or damage. The fire was
returned.

At about the same time,
bazooka shells and small
arms were fired at the pol-
ice station at Zari'it near
the Lebanese Border, again
without causing casualties
or damage.

Striking Israelis
Leave Their Ship

NEW YORK — Striking
crewmen of the M.S. Nyuta
have agreed to leave the ship
and return to Israel, accord-
ing to news sources.
An attorney for the ship's
owners said United States
Immigration Service offi-
cials had given the 27 crew-
men until Jan. 1 to leave the
ship or be deported.
The strike, led by five
members of an Israeli
union, has tied up the Nyuta
since Dec. 11 at Burnside,
an anchorage midway be-
tween New Orleans and
Baton-Rouge.
