Deaf Actors Set
Youtheatre Show

ADAM'S
RIB

"The Little Theatre of the
Deaf" combines the visual
language and the spoken
word to create a theatrical
event 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Jan. 17 at the Detroit Insti-
tute of Arts Youtheatre.
The Little Theatre of the
Deaf is an off-shoot of the
National Theatre of the
Deaf which began its work
in 1966. The company was
formed to help erase the
many misconceptions the
world has about deaf people.
The five performers in the
company, four deaf actors
and one hearing actor, are
almost all college graduates.
They have performed
throughout the United
States as well as Canada,
England, France, Italy,
Australia, Belgium, Austria
and Holland for a total of
more than 1,000 perform-
ances, in more,than 300 dif-
ferent theaters.
Tickets to The Little
Theatre of the Deaf and all
Youtheatre "Something Ev-
ery Saturday" attractions
are available from the De-
troit Institute of Arts ticket
office. For information,
phone , the Youtheatre,
832-2730.
