He /— was a member of the Omi- cron Chapter of the Alpha Zeta Omega Pharmaceuti- cal Fraternity for 34 years ) and a past national presi- dent. A World War II veteran, Mr. Platt was a member of the National Association of Retail Druggists, Aescula- pian Pharmaceutical Asso- ci- -n, a former member of .rents Youth Guidance Commission of Southfield a member of the American Pharmaceutical Association and a past commissioner of the Southfield Board of Health. Mr. Platt was a former board member of the Wayne State University Alumni Association, a member of the board of directors of Cong. Bnai David, a member of Town and Country Club, Jewish War Veterans and Perfec- tion Lodge of the Masons. He resided at 24355 North Carolina, Southfield. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Rochelle) Markle, Lauren and Mar- lene; two brothers, Samuel W. and Harold; three sis- ters, Mrs. David (Betty) Horwitz, Mrs. Solomon B. (Miriam) Cohen and Mrs. Solomon (Arlene) Silber- berg of Los Angeles; and one grandchild. Leo Stern, 62 Leo Stern, a vice presi- dent of Glen Eagles Inc., a division of Hart, Shafner and Marx, died Dec. 29 at age 62. Born in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., Mr. Stern lived most of his life in Detroit. He was a member of Temple Beth El, Tam 0' Shanter Country Club, Standard City Club, and a past president of the Michigan Apparel Club. He resided at 30220 Cheviot Hills Dr., Franklin. Philanthropist Anna Prentis Anna S. Prentis, who with her husband, the late Meyer L. Prentis, made nu- merous contributions to Wayne State University and other Jewish and local insti- tutions, died Sunday at age 84. A native Detroiter, Mrs. Prentis was active in reli- gious, civic and charitable affairs. She was a 50-year member of Temple Beth El where the Meyer and Anna Prentis Library and reli- gious school were estab- lished. Mrs. Prentis was a past president of Hadassah, an active supporter of ORT and Brandeis University and a principal in the establish- ment of The Orchards, a di- vision of the National Coun- cil of Jewish Women. Mrs. Prentis, along with her husband, the longtime treasurer of the General Motors Corp., endowed the Meyer and Anna Prentis Building in the School of Business Administration at Wayne State Univer- sity. Also named for the Pren- tis family were Prentis Manor, Jewish Home for the Aged; and the Meyer L. Prentis Cancer Center of the Michigan Cancer Foun- dation. With her husband, Mrs. Prentis was the foun- der of the Albert Einstein Medical School at Yeshiva University and they en- dowed scholarships at the Florence Heller School of Social Work at Brandeis University and are now building a comprehensive high school in Neshen, Is- rael. In November, the Prentis family made a $500,000 con- tribution to Wayne State University, which in turn named its medical research facility in the Detroit Medi- cal Center the Helen Vera Prentis Lande Medical Re- search Building, after the Prentis daughter who died in 1974. Mrs. Prentis was unable to attend the dedica- tion owing to her illness. Mrs. Prentis leaves three daughters, Mrs. Lester J. (Jewell) Morris, Mrs. Bev- erly Prentis Straus and Mrs. Marvin A. (Barbara) Frenkel; a brother Meyer Steinberg; eight granchil- dren and one great-grand- daughter. Argentine Leader, C. Rajchenberg BUENOS AIRES (JTA) Chaim Rajchenberg, an en- gineer and Jewish commu- nity leader, died Dec. 21 at age 59. Until last May, Mr. Rajchenberg was president of the Buenos Aires Jewish Community Council and of the Federation of Argentine Jewish Communities. Lillian Diamond Lillian Diamond, a past president of . Detroit Chap- ter of Hadassah, died Dec. 26 at age 80.
