Women's Pre-Campaign Event
Found Profitable by Chairmen
Reva Taubman, left, Ruth K. Broder, Myra Citrin
and Dulcie Rosenfeld share their pleasure at the fund-
raising results of last week's Women's Division meeting
for the 1976 Allied Jewish Campaign-Israel Emergency
Fund. Mrs. Taubman was chairman for the meeting at
the Citrin home as well as one of the afternoon's panel-
ists. Mrs. Broder, who is the Division Campaign chair-
man, announced that the money raised at the dessert
luncheon was significantly higher than the results of the
comparable $2,500-minimum-contribution meeting last
year. Mrs. Rosenfeld is associate chairman of the Wom-
en's Division campaign.

Einstein Lodge, Chapter Revue
Recalls Lives of Membership
A musical and dramatic
revue presented by mem-
bers of the Albert Einstein
Lodge and Chapter of Bnai
Brith recalled the most im-
portant years of the 20th
Century to the modern Jew.
In song, dance and with
dramatic readings, the
lodge and chapter Sunday
presented at the main Jew-
ish Community Center "The
Ballad of Our People," an
original program written
and directed by Rosa Levin-
son.
The program, marking
the 20th anniversary of the
lodge and chapter which are
comprised mainly of immi-
grants who came from East-
ern Europe after liberation
in 1945, recalled events in
the lives of the members
from the shtetl days,
through the birth of the
state of Israel to the pre-
sent.
A chorus of alternately
orange and green-dressed
chapter members gave
spirited renditions of pop-
ular Yiddish tunes, and
individually gave serious
readings to preface the fol-
lowing portions of the
program: for a piece enti-
tled, "The Partisans," the
women kept time in song
as well as in the difficult
dance which resembled a
military march.
The Wayne State Univer-
sity folk dance group, con-
ducted by Uri Segal, de-
lighted the overflow
audience with its Israeli,
Hasidic and Russian dances.
The University of Michigan
dance group, led by Carolyn
Dorfman, added extra em-
phasis to the painful ghetto
song, "Belz" and hopeful
"Exodus."
Sam Moss, musical arran-
ger for the program, with
his wife, Eta, sang a Se-
phardic melody in Greek to
emphasize the diversity of
the Jews. The women's
chrous performed a Greek
dance in the background.
Helene Klein, daughter
of chapter president Eve-
lyn Klein, was soloist in a
piece dedicated to the Six-
Day War and in another
recalling the concentra-
tion camps.
Eric Rosenow and his
Continentals donated their
lively music for the produc-
tion. Presentations included
a plaque to Mrs. Levinson
"for her efforts toward the
lodge and chapter's cultural
programs."
Americal Jews' contribu-
tions to this nation's history
and the adaptation of Juda-
ism to the environment of
American liberty are cen-
tral themes in "Rendezvous
With Freedom," the Jewish
Community Council's most
recent addition to its film
library.
"Rendezvous With Free-
dom" traces the "Ameri-
canization of Judaism" from
the time that the first Jew-
ish settlers came to the New
World in 1654, through the
building of the first syn-
agogue in Newport, RI; and
down to the waves of immi-
gration to New York's
Lower East Side.
In addition the film high-
lights the lives and accom-
plishments of American
Jewish pioneers such as Ju-
dah Touro, Haym Solomon
and Rebecca Gratz.
To reserve this, or any of
Council's other films about
Judaism, Israel, American
and Soviet Jewry and the
Holocaust, contact the Jew-
ish Community Council,
