Temple Emanu-El in Oak
Park suffered a second inci-
dent of vandalism within a
two week period last Thurs-
day night, when vandals
broke in through a window
and rifled desks in an office
area.
Duplicating fluid was
poured on a floor, and a tele-
phone and tape recorder
were reported taken.
On Nov. 9, two teenagers
were seen counting money
and then running from an
area between the 10 Mile
Jewish Community Center
and the temple. Police found
that the temple had been en-
tered through an open win-
dow after a screen was pried
loose, and a briefcase con-
taining $19.50 in cash and
four small checks was
taken. The brief case and
checks were recovered.

said. He said he believed
the incidents were the
work of youngsters look-

Detective Terry Bolitho of
Oak Park's Department of

have been similar incidents
at other synagogues and
churches within Oak Park
in which money was the
apparent object of the
break-ins.
He said little damage or
theft of equipment was re-

incidents are no more fre-

ods.
