The Friedmans were married Nov. 21, 1925, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Mrs. Friedman, the former Sarah Weisman, and her husband were born in Biala, near Brest Litovsk, Poland. The economic insecurities that were created by the an- ti-Semitic humiliations im- posed on Polish Jewry by the Pilsudski government's anti-Jewish legislative and social bigotries compelled the young couple to seek haven elsewhere. Sarah went to Detroit where she joined members of her fam- ily, and Morris settled in Argentina. After a two-year lapse the couple fulfilled a love pact, met in Buenos Aires to be married. Soon thereafter they left for De- troit to make their home here for nearly the entire half century of their mar- ried life. The deep interest of the.
