Citrin Heads Federation; Mrs. Stollman
First Woman to Be Named Vice President

Martin E. Citrin has been
elected president of Jewish
Welfare Federation of De-
troit.
The election of Citrin and
other Federation officers
was held Monday at a board
of governors meeting at the
new Jewish Community
Center in West Bloomfield.
Citrin, succeeds Mandell
L. Berman as president. He

was a Federation vice presi-
dent for three years.
Formerly an officer of
Federation Apartments,
Citrin is also a director of
the United Jewish Chari-
ties and a member of its
finance and Jewish com-
munity foundation com-
mittees.
Citrin is a member of
Federation's capital needs
committee which is respon-
sible for long-term planning
for Federation agency build-
ing needs.
Chairman of the capital
funds drive for the new Cen-
ter at Maple and Drake
Roads in West Bloomfield,
Citrin has served as a Cen-
ter treasurer and vice presi-
dent.

elected to serve a one-year

term as a Federation vice
president. The first
woman elected a Federa-
tion officer in recent years
and the first woman vice
president, Mrs. Stollman
has been a member of Fed-
eration's board of gover-
nors, president of its Wom-
en's Division, and
Division chairman of the
Allied Jewish Campaign-
Israel Emergency Fund.
She is a board member of
the national council of the
American Jewish Joint
Distribution Committee.
Re-elected to their cur-
rent offices for the coming
year were Samuel Frankel,
Maxwell Jospey, and George
M. Zeltzer, vice presidents;
William Avrunin, secretary;
and Irwin Green, treasurer.
Max M. Fisher is honor-
ary chairman of the Federa-
tion executive committee
and Paul Zuckerman is an
honorary committee mem-
ber.
Mrs. N. Brewster Broder,
Alfred L. Deutsch, and Irv-
ing Rose are new members
of Federation's executive
committee.
Louis Berry, Stanley D.
Frankel, Thomas I. Klein,
Mrs. Philip R. Marcuse,
and Stanley J. Winkelman
were re-elected to the ex-
ecutive committee for an-
other year.
