Flint Council Hits UN Zionism Vote

The Flint City Counci
recently voted to condemn
the United Nations resolu-
tion equating Zionism with
racism. Third Ward Coun-
cilman Woody Etherly Jr.
and Fifth Ward Councilman
Fred Tucker abstained.

Friends 'Roast'
Flint Dentist

Dr. Samuel Sorscher,
Flint dentist, was honored
last week at a "roast and
toast" dinner at Cong. Beth
Israel.
More than 300 persons
attended the dinner, at
which friends "roasted"
him, and hili two daughters
presented an audiovisual
program on his life.
Sorscher is a former pres-
ident of Cong. Beth Israel
and was chairman of its re-
ligious school from 1957 to
1960.

Hospitality Party
Slated by FJCC

The Flint Jewish Commu-
nity Council will host a hos-
pitality party Dec. 14 in the
home of the Bob Silvermans
for Jewish people who have
recently moved to the area.
Emily Bank is chairman of
the hospitality committee.
Assisting her are Judy Ka-
sle and Jennifer Walters.
The Hospitality Commit-
tee visits all newcomers to
the Flint area, and informs
them of the services of the
FJCC, its committees and
constituent organizations.

one who should receive this

Team (FEAT), a nonprofit
corporation trying to raise
money for environmental
purposes.

JNF Jordan Park
Project Is Begun

TEL AVIV — The first
stages of development on
the Jordan Park which is to
occupy the deep gorge be-
tween the Hula and the Kih-
neret Valleys and the lake's
northern shore, are being
carried out by the Jewish
National Fund at the south-
ern edge of the park, in the
Bethsaida (Buteiha) Valley,
north-east of Lake Kin-
neret.
