Beth Jacob Plans Family Dinner

_ B ack in 1849, a Mr. Sutter
then living in New Jersey
suffered from a fever, which
he seemed unable to throw
off. The doctors and all the
medicines did him no good.
He thought maybe a change
of climate would help and
he- - moved to California
where he got a job working
on a saw mill.
One day, he saw some-
thing glistening in_ the
ground. He wasn't sure
whether it was worth .pay-
ingany attention to, but on
second thought, he picked it
up. It was gold. So began the
famous California Gold
Rush. -
In Israel, there has been
something of a reverse
,phenomena. The Israeli goy-
ernment has invested con-
siderable sumsof money in
the Sodom area extracting
chemicals of the Dead Sea,
but now tourists are flock-
ing there for health pur-
poses. The Danish govern-
ment has begun sending 40
patients every month. —

Just what is it that ac-
counts for some of the mir-
acles of healing reported?
The answer is not defi-
nitely known, but it is
speculated that the heav-
ier content of oxygen and
the greater richness of the

Pro-Zionist Parley
in Israel Delayed

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
The summit of Jewish lead-
ers to plan a pro-Zionist
worldwide campaign,will
now be held Dec. 3-5, not
Nov. 27-29 as earlier in-
tended.
The number of Jewish
leaders to be invited has also
been changed — from the
original 100 to 120. They
will convene together with
the entire Israeli Cabinet,
and members of the World
Zionist Organization Execu-
tive, and also the heads of
the Zionist opposition par-
ties in Israel.
The summit conference
will plan ways to combat
the anti-Jewish, anti-Zionist
attack launched in the UN
General Assembly by the
resolution equating Zionism
with racism.

In The Jewish News of Friday, Nov. 21, We
ran our traditional Hanuka AD. The particu-
lar AD has been a successful one, so we
have therefore repeated it for three succes-
sive years, changing only the dates to con-
form to the present. -

This year in ADDITION to changing the
dates the word ACAPULCO WAS TO
HAVE BEEN DELETED. Unfortunately noth-
ing was changed. The oversight must be ac-
knowledged. THE NEWS HAS OFFERED
THEIR APOLOGIES . . . THE ERROR WAS
AN HONEST OVERSIGHT.

While it is our belief that everyone has the
right to choose his "VACATION PARAD-
ISE", it is our conviction that the Mexican
government's U N Action against Israel
eliminates for us Acapulco as that particu-
lar paradise. We would not wish to prom-
ote it as such anyway.
