New England campuses as a
UJA Fellow, speaking on
the critical issues facing
Jews both here and abroad.
The UJA Fellow program,
now in its second year, is
part of the Faculty Advisory
cabinet of the United Jew-
ish Appeal. The main objec-
tive of the Faculty Advisory
Cabinet is to initiate pro-
earns that will become per-

adviser, said the most seri-
ous problem facing Juda-
ism "is that the image of
-4u-d-aivirrand religion is
such a negative one in the
eyes of Jewish youth." He
said the seminars had suc-
ceeded "in making the stu-
dents take back a more
positive attitude towards
Judaism."
The week-long programs
consist of formal and infor-
mal discussions on cultural
and Judaic topics, instruc-
tion in historical and spirit-
ual themes, and guidance in
a total Jewish environment.
Four staff members trav-
eled more than 20,000 miles
during the first visit of a

WASHINGTON (ZINS)
— It is now evident that
American aid for Israel is
being given with some im-
portant qualifications.
Of the total sum of $2.2
billion earmarked for Israel,
only $1 billion is in the form
of an outright grant. This
new loan obligation will cer-
tainly have a serious impact
on Israel's budget. The per-
centage of the national
budget which now goes to
service foreign debt grows
from day to day.
