Center Senior Adults Write Yearbook

The creative writer's
group of the senior adult
division of the Jewish Com-
munity Center has just is-
sued its first yearb000k of
creative writing efforts.
The book contains poetry,
fiction and non-fiction
pieces. Contributors include
G. Jay Bleiweiss, Markus
Engelberg, Rose Goldsmith,
Arthur Grosz, Rae Kendler,
Ben Melech Labiner,
Blanche Lipshaw, Sara Litt-
man, Bertha Mishcovsky,
Samuel Plotnick, Duva Tate
and Ruth Ungerleider. Illus-
trations were done by Mar-
tin Eden.
In the "Laugh a Little"
section of the yearbook is
the following by Bertha
Mishcovsky:

Thanks to instant think-
ing I said, "I don't want to
give him my cold. May I
have it on credit?" We all
had a big laugh.
Today, before leaving my
class, I decided to settle my
debt once and for all. I
kissed my student on the
cheek — but he wasn't satis-
fied and said, "Don't insult
the other cheek."

A Kiss on Credit

I had a bad cold for about
three weeks. Thank God, I
am alright now. During this
time I attended my Hebrew
class.
I was happy to see a stu-
dent who had been missing
for some time. I welcomed
him with a handshake. The
other students came up with
a question, "We all kissed
him. Why don't you?"

I am not so stingy and
now my debt is paid. I am
lucky he is a normal person
with only two cheeks.
