The United Nations Gen- eral Assembly has recently voted to condemn Zionism as racism. We deplore the resolution because we be- lieve that Zionism is not rac- ism. On the contrary, Zion- ism is a movement to give national dignity to a people which has suffered the con- sequences of Nazi racism. We also deplore the reso- lution because we believe in the value of the UN and be- cause we want it to survive as a vehicle for world unity and world peace. The UN will destroy its credibility as an international organi- zation for peace if it is used to propagate obvious false- hood and to assault the de- cent opinions of rational people. We affirm our continued support for the good work of the United Nations. We want to help it succeed. We therefore hope that you will do whatever is possible to influence the United Na- tions General Assembly to sane and useful discussion.
