According to Father John Zwers, superintendent of schools for the Archdiocese of Detroit, the seminar was held for Catholic students to "learn more about Jewish history and the state of Is- rael." He said the purpose of the seminar was "for stu- dents and teachers to de- velop follow-up activities at their individual schools which will help to improve relations between Catholics and Jews."
