Fresh Air Society to Host
Tamarack Winter Weekends
The Fresh Air Society
will sponsor three winter
weekends at Camp Tamar-
ack-Ortonville. The first
weekend, Dec. 5-7, is a Ha-
nuka Weekend for parents
with children 10 years of
age and under.
Specially supervised ac-
tivities for children, nature
and craft activities for the
whole family, and evening
discussions for adults will
highlight the weekend.
The 10th annual nature
winter weekend for boys
and girls will take place
Dec. 26-29 and Jan. 2-4.
Both of these weekends will
feature crafts, drama, mu-
sic, cooking, games and
hikes. The four day weekend
(Dec. 26-29), will be for chil-
dren age 11-13. The three-
day weekend (Jan. 2-4), will
be for children age 8-10.

Alvin L. Kushner, execu-

Community Council of Met-
ropolitan Detroit, will join
with leaders of the Detroit
chapter of the National As-
sociation for the Advance-
ment of Colored People in
paying tribute to the late
Kivie Kaplan, past national
president of the NAACP
and vice chairman of the
Union of American Hebrew
Congregations.
Dr. J. J. McClendon and
Rev. James Wadsworth, of
the NAACP Detroit Chap-
ter's executive board, will
join in a panel discussion of
Mr. Kaplan's contributions
to the bettering of relations
between American Jews
and American blacks, and
what should be done to
