Vantage Press has just re-
leased a new volume of spe-
cial interest to Detroiters,
the late Jacob Savin's "Ju-
daism for Non-Jews."
The late Mr. Savin, a
member of Cong. Shaarey
Zedek and a lay scholar who
devoted himself to Zionism
and the uplifting of Jewish
idealism, had written ear-
lier on the ideals he cher-
ished. His earlier works . in-
cluded "The Only Answer"

Interfaith Project to Present
Jewish-Christian Film Series

and "Concepts of Judaism."
He found great satisfac-
tion in expressing his views
in the books he published.
The current work, published
posthumously, was a con-
tinuation of the author's life
of dedication to his ideal-
ism.

In "Judaism for Non-
Jews," Mr. Savin briefly
compares the early reli-
gious environment of the
Near East and the roots of
the world's great reli-
gions, and briefly dis-
cusses how Judaism dif-
fers and continues to be
apart from other forms of
monotheism.

CHICAGO — The use of
motion pictures to generate
interfaith discussions on
subjects critical to Jewish-
Christian relationships is
the basis of a new nation-
wide project jointly spon-
sored by three organiza-
tions, one Catholic,
Protestant and Jewish.
Titled "Film Feedback:
. Tri-Faith Interface, a Pro-
gram of 16mm Films for
Christian-Jewish Dialogue,"
the project is designed to
enlist the cooperation of
churches, synagogues and
communitygroups, and is
expected to reach into every
major community in the
United States.
The project is sponsored
by the American Jewish
Committee, the National
Council of Churches and the
National Conference of
Catholic bishops.

Israeli Classes
on New York TV

NEW YORK — The Tar-
buth Foundation for the Ad-
vancement of Hebrew Cul-
ture has begun broadcasting
Israeli television adult edu-
cation classes over New
York City's cable TV sta-
tion, Ch. 10.
The TV courses, supplied
by the Israeli Broadcasting
Authority, are aired at 6:30
p.m. Monday-Thursday for
26 weeks, and cover Jewish
history, art, music and cul-
ture.
The foundation is also dis-
tributing videotapes. For

stituents asked for his help
two weeks ago. Based on his
visits during the past two
weeks and the complaints,
Schumer has called for a
state-wide probe into pro-
tection of cemeteries.
The Washington Ceme-
tery, which dates back to
1861, covers some 100 acres.
