the volunteers in enrolling
supporters for the Balfour
Concert, having enrolled
personally some 20 percent
of those sponsoring the
event.
Although the Detroit
Symphony orchestra is cur-
rently on strike, the concert
will be performed because
of separate contracts signed
with the Orchestra and
Ford Auditorium.
Because of the strike, the
Balfour Concert will be the
first performance of the
Orchestra this season.
Felix Resnick will be
guest conducter and Israeli
violinist Pinchas Zucker-
man will be featured.
The concert's program
will include the Roman Car-
nival overture by Berlioz,
Mendelssohn's Concerto for
Violin and Orchestra in E
Minor, Fanfare for the Com-
mon Man by Copland, Don
Juan Tone Poem by Strauss
and Rimsky-Korsakov's Ca-
priccio Espagnol.
Dr. Starkman said a lim-
ited number of tickets • are
still available for the per-
formance. For information,
call the Zionist Organiza-
tion of Detroit, 353-3636.
