The awards will pay trib- ute to those "faithful sons and daughters who have rendered distinguished serv- ice to the American demo- cratic heritage and the ethi- cal Jewish tradition of social responsibility and concern," said Mrs. Evelyn Schreiber, national president of AMW. The award was estab- lished in 1975 to mark both the 200th birthday of the U.S. in the Bicentennial Year, as well as the 50th birthday of AMW. The first recipient of the Bicentennial Public Serv- ice Award, was Mayor Abraham D. Beame of New York City. Kerwin Plans to Marry Women's League Plans Conference NEW YORK — Dr. Abram Sachar, chancellor of Brandeis University, will deliver the principal address at the biennial social action- United Nations conference of the Women's League for Conservative Judaism Tues- day at the Forest Hills Jew- ish Center, it was an- nounced by Mrs. M. Milton Perry, national president of the league. The theme of the confer- ence is "Changing Perspec- tives in American Jewry". The conference will deal with domestic social issues.
