Mike Wallace Exonerates Self on Syria

Mike Wallace continues to
insist he was right in his
portrayal of the condition of
Jews in Syria on his much
disputed 60 Minutes pro-
grams on two occasions.

Appearing Sunday eve-
ning on the Lou Gordon pro-
gram, Wallace maintained
that he gave a true picture
and said he is returning to
Syria soon for another eval-

uation of the Jewish posi-
tion.
He called the protests
against his programs ex-
pressions from the "pro-Is-
rael" group under the lead-
ership of the American
Jewish Congress.
