the survivors from Naz-
ism.
Mr. Rosensaft, who was
an art collector and in the
real estate investment busi-
ness, settled temporarily in
Montreux, Switzerland, un-
til moving to New York in

lection included paintings

The horrible end was the
unleashing of the Second
World War and the annihi-
lation of millions of Jews.
Why these dreadful sacrif-
ices?

The answer is ghat Hitler
wanted varo his whole life
had no other purpose than
that of war. He transformed
our countr\ into a giant war
machine in which each one
of us was a.small cog. That
could be seen. But ho shut
our eyes and ears hoping
ping it
might not be so.
