DR. HAMBURGER
Browned in garlic butter
of Detroit and holds BA and
MD degrees from the Uni-
versity of Michigan. He
served in the United States
Air Force as a flight sur-
geon. After his tour in the
service, Dr. Hamburger
studied internal medicine at
Sinai Hospital, followed by
a fellowship in endocrinol-
ogy at Henry Ford Hospital.
Since 1961 he has practiced
as a consultant in thyroid
diseases. He has authored
five textbooks and over 60
papers on this subject. Dr.
Hamburger has lectured
extensively in the United
States and abroad.
Dr. Hamburger is a di-
plomate of the American
Board of Internal Medi-
cine, and a fellow of the
American College of Phy-
sicians, as well as a mem-
ber of the American Thy-
roid Association, the
Endocrine Society, the
Society of Nuclear Medi-
cine, and other scientific
societies. He has served
the Oakland County Medi-
cal Society as a member of
the board of directors,
chairman of the mediation
committee, editor of the
bulletin, secretary and is
president-elect.
An ardent Zionist, Dr.
Hamburger was president
of the Detroit district of the
Zionist Organization of
America in 1970 and 1971.
In 1972, he was chairman of
the committee which
brought the Israel Philhar-
monic Orchestra to Detroit.
During the Yom Kippur
War he chaired an emer-
gency fund-raising drive at
Zionist Cultural Center, and
then went to Washington
with a delegation that met
with Sen. Robert P. Griffin
and other Congressional
leaders to urge provision of
the essential supplies which
permitted Israel to reverse

The second annual Ann
Arbor Winter Art Fair will
be held Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in the
University of Michigan's
track and tennis building at
Ferry Field.
More than 200 artists
from 12 states will have
their works on display. Ad-
mission is free. Hours are 10
a.m.-9 p.m. Oct. 31 and Nov.
1 and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 2.
Parking will be available at
Ferry Field and Crisler
Arena at a nominal fee.
