Jewish faith who graduated
this past spring have been
undergoing a change of
mind and no longer want to
play for Israeli basketball
teams.
It's not a question of fear,
it's a question of money,
plus the fact that our Amer-
ican-Jewish players don't
want to assume dual citizen-
ship, which is permissible.
Once an American takes out
Israeli citizenship he be-
comes eligible for the army
and this presents quite a
problem to the players who
have been recruited.
In addition, amateur bas-
ketball teams throughout
Europe have decided that

Canaanite

HAIFA — A fragment of
a Hebrew inscription, large
letters eight cm. high in the
ancient Canaanite script, on
a jar dating back of the time
of King Saul has been found
at Shikmona, the ancient
coastal town south of here,
the director of the munici-
pal Museum of Antiquities,
Dr. Yosef Algavish, re-
