DECLARES
KASHRUS WEEK •

WHEREAS, we are living in a time of great
spiritual confusion which has had a detrimental
effect on the Jewish people; and

WHEREAS, our Torah Scholars have attrib-

uted this in part to the laxity in keeping the
rules of Kashrus because "we are what we eat;"
in spirit as well as body. and

WHEREAS, during these days of Teshuv:t

(repentance) between Rosh Hashana and Yom
Kippur,God is close to His people making this a
most auspicious time for improvement in spirit-
ual matters:

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that we
recognize the week of September 7th, The Ten
Days of Repentance, as KASHRUS WEEK and
that every effort be made by all members of the
corn Ill unity to encourage people to Kasher their
kitchens and improve the spiritual quality of
their lives;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that

the Kashrus Committee of Detroit will rebate
to anyone 50'; of the cost of Kashering their
kitchen on presentation of receipts of the cost
along with a note from the Rabbi who super-
vised the change.
