According to the Czecho- slovak Jewish Aid Trust, the synagogue and its memorial tablets have been affected by dampness from the nearby Vltava river. Restoration work has also started at the Old Jewish Cemetery of Prague with the renovation of the tomb- stone of Joseph Shlomo Del- mediga (1591-1655) by the Czech sculptor Jiri Lendr. The essay contest is one of many projects sponsored by the JAC in honor of UJC's 75th anniversary and Federation's 50th year of communal service. Youth Program at Adat Shalom This year Adat Shalom Synagogue is offering a program for its youth with emphasis on the Jewish reli- gious experience. The pro- gram runs from kindergar- ten through high school and is open to all who are inter- ested. The United Hebrew Schools also have a branch at the synagogue. Among the opportunities for the coming year are the following: . religious school, a two-hour program on Sun- days for kindergarten through second grade, youth community study for the high school students in- terested in continuing their Jewish education and a con- firmation program, held in conjunction with the United Hebrew High School for girls in grades eight through 10. Weekly Shabat services for the various youth groups and monthly meeting of the Bar and Bat Mitzva Break- Teens Pay Tribute to 'Six Million' The Teen Work Corps and Camp Shalom, two divisions of the Jewish Community Center's summer program, erected a monument to the Six Million, enhanced by a small tree, to pay tribute to the fallen and to the living. The monument stands at the 10 Mile Center branch. Members of the work corps are Neil Goodman, David Noble, Heidi Linovitz, Ricky Trosch and Joel Fel- senfeld. Participating in the tree planting were Esther Burg, Stan Berenbaum, Steve Berenbaum, Wendy Cohen, Ira Finkelstein, Amy Gold, Danny Kalef, Lisabeth Kalish and Mar- shall Zweig.
