New Sinai Agreement May Bring End to Arab
Boycott of U.S. Companies Dealing With Israel

NEW YORK — As part of
the pending- disengagement
agreement in the Sinai,
news sources say Egypt is
ready to disengage itself
from the Aral) boycott of
American firms that do

Egypt's willingness to
break with the 25-year-old
boycott will not he made
public. according to the Lon-
don Times. But Secretary of
State Henry Kissinger is
said to have secured the as-
su•ance from President
Sadat.
The Egyptian gesture,
assuming its fulfillment, is
depicted as part of Sadat's
desire for economic develop-
ment.
Meanwhile, in Washing-
ton, testifying before the
Senate banking gubcorn-
rwittee on July 22,:.Trea-

penalizing U.S. firms com-
plying with the Arab boy-
cott.
The Department of Com-
merce disclosed the names
of four companies who had
been fined $1,000 each for
failing to report Arah boy-
cott demands.
The four firms are: AGIP
U.S.A., Inc., National
Co. and National Cash
Register, all of New York:
and Continental-Emsco Co.,
of Houston, Tex.
In another hearing, Sen.
Adlai Stevenson reported
that General Motors had
canceled the contract of a
Chicago manufacturer of
bus seats when he refused
to say Nv hethN or not his
firm was on the Arab boy-
cott list. The seats were for

Saudi Arabia.
