Detroiter Marks
87th Birthday

David Zellman will be
honored by family and
friends at a party Aug. 24
on the occasion of his 87th
birthday.
Zellman began his busi-
ness career as a merchant in
Kentucky. When he later
came to Detroit, he was one
of the Jewish pioneer cloth-
ing store owners on Gratiot
Ave. Following his marriage
in 1916 to his wife, Grace,
Zellman entered the real
estate business.
He retired at age 59 and
became active in Zionist or-
ganizations and philanthro-
pies. He also has been active
in the Real Estate Division
of the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign.
