Steinberg's Zionist, Communal
Roles Recalled on 75th Birthday

A long record of Zionist
and philanthropic activities
and a major career in the
printing industry are re-
called by family and friends
in the greetings being ex-
tended to Myron Steinberg
on his 75th birthday which
he will mark on Aug. 14.
In the early years of
Keren Hayesod and Zionist
Organization of Detroit ac-
tivities in pre-Israel days,
Steinberg was an associate
of the Detroit pioneers in
philanthropic and com-
munal services.
Steinberg worked for the
forerunners of the Torch
Drive. He later formed a
team with his brothers,
Morris and Theodore, and
the late Joseph H. Ehrlich
to annually solicit funds for
the United Jewish Appeal,
Keren Hayesod and Allied
Jewish Campaign.

Steinberg is a former fi-
nancial secretary of the
ZOD and publicity chair-
man. He was ticket sales
chairman under Meyer
Weisgal who produced
"Romance of a People" in
1933 at Olympia Stadium.

Moving to Detroit from
Toledo in 1912, Steinberg
dropped out of Western
High school in 1916 and
later joined his brothers
who organized the Morris
Press in 1918. In 1943 Stein-
berg started his own com-
pany, Amsterdam Press,
and purchased the White
Color Card Co. in 1944 and
Millard Press in Ann Arbor
in 1962.

exploration of the potential
of new materials.

Dean of Rabbinical
Sages Hospitalized

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
The doyen of rabbinical

end with heart trouble. In-
formed sources said he was
not seriously stricken and
they hoped he would' make a
full recovery.

London in 1950 Rabbi
Abramsky has lived in Jeru-
salem, working on his mon-
umental "Hazon Yehezkel"
commentary on the Tose-
phta. He also holds weekly
