Among Prostitutes
in Tel Aviv
TEL AVIV — Nearly 40
percent of the prostitutes in
Israel have syphilis, accord-
ing to a Health Ministry
study.
The study said the spread
of the disease in Tel Aviv is
responsible for causing the
syphilis rate to rise nation-
wide.

200 Lubavitchers
On Torah Mission
NEW YORK (LNS) —
Some 200 senior Lubav-
itcher rabbinical students
left New York last week on
their Torah spreading mis-
sion to hundreds of Jewish
communities throughout
North and South America.
This is the 27th consecutive
year that the program has
been in operation._
These students, aged 18
through 24, have volun-
teered to spend most of
their summer vacation time
for this mission to contact
thousands of Jews, meeting
them on the streets and in
homes, in shopping centers
and at work.
Traveling in pairs, they
will also meet with rabbis,
Jewish educators and com-
munal leaders, in the com-
munities they visit.
In their mission to
strenghten Torah-true edu-
cation for all Jews, and par-
ticularly for the young, the
young scholars will also
stress the importance of the
massive world-wide five-
point Mitzva campaign,
inaugurated by the Luhav-
itcher Rehbe, Rabbi Mena-
chem M. Schneerson, in
which the Rehhe has called
upon Jews all over the world
to set aside time every day
for serious Torah study,
that all Jewish men don Te-
fillin every weekday, that
every room in a Jewish
home have a 'kosher' me-
zuza properly affixed to its
right doorpost, that every
Jewish home have a charity
box and that every home
have sacred hooks.
