place could hold the 'wonder-

BEWARE OF "RIP-
OFF" mechanics at gas sta-

tions . . . Ask first how
much the work is going to be
and if necessary, don't be af-
raid to get a second estimate
... In many cases you'll find
the two differ in the work to
be done . . . Maybe - a third
one will settle the situation
... except that the third will
probably be different in his
conception also .. . Unless
you have a station that is de-
pendable, like Jim Atnip's
Jim and Harvey's Standard
on Schaefer, Izzy Fried-
man's 76 on Northwestern,
Charlie Robinson's Shell on -
W. 8 Mile and others, be
very careful.

CHILDREN'S DEPT...

. Asked if his little baby
brother could talk yet,
8-year-old Bobby Seligman
replied disgustedly, "Naw,
he can't:And why should he
learn? All David has to do is
yell a while and he can have
everything in the house
worth having." . . . (They
are the two sons of Molly
and Jack Seligman.)
Michael Grunsky, 6-year-
old son of Ruth and Sam
Grusky, was told by a
friend's mother that she
heard he had a new baby at
his house . . . "Aw, I don't
think he's so very new," re-
plied little Michael. "The
way he cries he must have
had lots of experience!"
Before being given money
to b.uy some candy, little
7-year-old Jo Ann Metzger
was asked by her aunt, Mar-
ian Karn, what she had
done during the week to
make some person happy
. . . Little Jo Ann replied,
"Well, I spent one afternoon
at my friend's house down
the street and when I went
home, she was happy."
