Austria Holocaust
Role Is Blasted

VIENNA (JTA) - Gideon
Hausner, an Israeli Cabinet
Minister-Without-Port-
folio, criticized Austria
Monday for its refusal to
compensate Jews for the
loss of property confiscated
by the Nazis and for failing
to prosecute Nazi war crimi-
nals.

"Israel's claim for com-
pensation is all the more
justified iyl a time of eco-
nomic difficulties," he told a
meeting of the Austro-Is-
rael Society.

Hausner, who is a leader
of the Independent Liberal
Party and was the prosecu-
tor at the Eichmann Trial,
said Israelis are "shocked"
that Austria refuses to try
Nazi war criminals.

The Israeli minister also
said Israel was prepared to
give back territory "for the
sake of peace," but declared
"Israel will not negotiate
with representatives of the
Palestine Liberation Organ-
ization whose aim is to ex-
tinguish the Israeli state."

car parked on Hayarkon
St. There were no injuries.

The car was owned by an
Israeli woman employe of
TWA and was parked near
the airline office. Police are
not certain whether the act
was that of local criminals
or terrorists.
Four parked cars and one
parked bus were set on fire
in Tel Aviv last week. An-
other car was damaged by
an explosive charge earlier
last week and an explosive
charge was discovered and
dismantled in still another
car that had been garaged
for three days. Police sus-
pect that these incidents
may be the latest form of
terrorist activity in Israel's
largest city.

Lotteries have been part
of the American scene since
this country was founded
nearly 200 years ago. The
early colonies utilized
lotteries to build roads,
schools, hospitals and pay
for the costs of government.
Nothing in the last 200
years, however, compares
with Michigan's new
Bicentennial Commemora-
tive Lottery. The $5 game.
It is the biggest and richest
Lottery in American history.
