The Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration of Metropolitan De-
troit was one of several fed-
erations which voted to
inaugurate a national
Pooled Income Fund at the
board of directors meeting
of the Council of Jewish
Federations and Welfare
Funds held recently in New
York.
The fund, known as the
Jewish Federation Pooled
Income Fund, is designed to
contribute to the long-range
security and growth of fed-
eration services. It also
provides an opportunity for
individual donors and for
community federations to
enlarge the potentials of
philanthropy for the broad-
est scope of human needs
embraced by federations.
Miles Jaffe will represent
the Detroit Federation on
the fund's administrative
committee which will super-
vise the operation of the pro-
gram. The First National
City Bank in New York will
act as a trustee of the fund.
