Ambassador Tekoah, who
will assume the presidency
of Beersheba University,
said the grant was received
from a distinguished New
York family who prefers to
remain anonymous. He said
the Yiddish culture studies
will become part of the ac-
credited curriculum at the
university.

NEW YORK (JTA) —
Ambassador Yosef Tekoah,
the retiring permanent rep-
resentative of Israel to the
united Nations, announced
the creation of a fund for
Yiddish culture series at
Beersheba University in the
Negev.

'Miracle Worker'
Slated at Center

The Jewish Community
Center, in conjunction with
the Wayne State University
Theater Department, will
present William Gibson's
The Miracle Worker," 8:15
p.m. July 13, 20 and 27 at
the main Center building.
The play, which recounts
the story of Helen Keller,
will star Patricia Albrecht
as Helen and Divina Cook as
Ann Sullivan. Samuel Pol-
lack is director. There is an
admission charge, and
group rates are available.
