Russia Strongest Navy in Gulf
After Suez Re-Opening: Heinl
Detroit News military
analyst Robert D. Heinl
wrote last week that the re-
opening of the Suez Canal
will make the Russian Navy
the strongest sea force in
the Persian Gulf.
Heinl said the Russians
have built every one of their
warships, including several
new aircraft carriers which
will be completed soon, to be
able to navigate the some-
times narrow and shallow
waterway.

The fourth annual assembly
of the reconstituted Jewish
Agency opens in Jerusalem
Monday.
The 300 delegates and
100-plus observers and
guests will steep themselves
in the issues and problems
facing the Agency in the
coming year, in its budget-
ary problems and in the
long-range plans to be sub-
mitted to the assembly by
several of the Agency's de-
partments.
Premier Yitzhak Rabin
will return to Israel during
the assembly and will ap-
pear before it to deliver a
first-hand account of his
talks in Washington.
The Agency's 1975-76
budget will be approved.

Committee Asks
Boycott Denial
NEW YORK — The
American Jewish Commit-
tee has called on major in-
dustrial corporations and
U.S. banks publicly to disa-
vow any compliance with
the Arab boycott and to re-
ject any Arab pressures to
discriminate against Jews
or members of any other
minority group.
The AJC request asked
the companies to emulate
the recent action by the
Bank of America and the
International Business Ma-
chines Corporation reassert-
ing their non-discrimina-
tory policy.
The action coincided with
the six-week mission of a
Saudi Arabian trade delga-
tion to the U.S., in which its
head, Dr. Abdelrahman al
Zamel, stated that the Arab
boycott policy was a fact of
