El Al Reports Heavy Bookings From U.S. From U.S.

Mordechai Ben-Ari, presi-

dent of El Al Israel Airlines

said that advanced bookings
in El Al for the fall and win-
ter seasons from the U.S. to

Israel are exceptionally
good "to a point where the
demands can hardly be
met," and that starting
from mid-October "it will be
hard to get hotel rooms in
Israel."
Ben-Ari cited the im-
proved military and political
atmosphere in the Mideast
and the reported economic
recovery in the United
States as major factors in
the increased tourist move-
ment from the United

NEW YORK — A grove of
1,000 trees to be planted in
Israel will be auctioned off
by the public broadcast TV
station in New York, Chan-
nel 13, during its Auction
Week this week.
The grove will be planted
in the new American Bicen-
tennial National Park in Is-
rael, southwest of Jerusa-
lem, which is being created
by the JNF of America to
commemorate 200 years of
American -Independence
and the 75th anniversary of
the founding of the JNF in
1901.
The high bidder for the
grove will also be given the
opportunity to dedicate it on
his or her visit to Israel.

in Bloomfield Hills

St. George Greek Ortho-
dox Church will hold its
annual ethnic- festival June
20-22 on the church
