UHS Official to be Honored Morris Nobel, longtime administrator of the United Hebrew Schools, will be honored by the UHS board at a reception June 4 at the UHS main building. Mandell L. Berman, pres- ident of the Jewish Welfare Federation of Metropolitan Detroit and Nobel's former pupil, will make a presenta- tion to the honoree. Bernard Isaacs, superintendent of the schools from 1948 to 1955, will speak. Nobel was educated at the University of Toledo, Ohio State University and Dropsie College. He has written numerous articles in several languages. No- bel's association with the UHS began in 1946. The Hebrew schools also announced the retirement of Leah Shrodeck from its teaching staff. A teacher at the Cong. Beth Achim branch, Mrs. Shrodeck taught in the Detroit Public School system and was for 26 years a teacher and later principal of the Hayim Greenberg School Mrs. Shrodeck has taught at Kibutz Degania in Israel.
