contributed can be claimed
as a tax deduction, a worker
should be able to set aside
more of his income each
year toward retirement.
Furthermore, the earnings
on the funds set aside will
compound tax free until
withdrawn — usually after
retirement.
Under federal law, no
payments can be made be-
fore age 59 1/2, unless the
individual becomes per-
manently disabled. If
death occurs sooner, funds
will be paid to a named
beneficiary.

NCJW Publishes Seniors Manual
NEW YORK — The Na-
tional Council of Jewish
Women has published a
bopklet on programs for
woildng with senior adults,
to be used by the NCJW's lo-
. cal sections, as well as social
service agencies and com-
munity groups.
The booklet "Continuing
Choices" describes basic
services such as kosher
meals on wheels, transpor-
tation and escort services
and legal assistance, and
broader services such as
sheltered workshops, lec-
ture groups and employ-
ment services.

Sherbins Celebrate
50th Anniversary

line Gilson, who is in charge
of the nursery and kinder-
garten.
Mrs. Gilson has a mas-
ter's degree in early child-
hood education and has
worked with young children

The Sherbins; of South-
field, are immigrants from
Russia, and he is a retired
typographer. They were
married May 12, 1925.

Radomer to Meet
The Radomer Aid Society
will have a dinner in cele-
bration of Shavuot 6 p.m.
Tuesday at the Workmen's
Circle Center. A short meet-
ing and entertainment will
follow.

Max M. Fisher, recently
named to the United Brands
Co. board of directors in
New Y6rk, was elected act-
ing board chairman.
Fisher said that he now
holds more than $1 million
of stock in United Brands,
which, he said, represents
about 75,000 shares.
He is also a board mem-
ber of several major corpo-
rations, including Fruehauf
Trailer, Owen-Illinois,
Michigan Consolidated Gas
and the Manufacturers Na-
tional Bank.
