'
Here s how you
can retireIn style'
under your own
personal tax shelter.

There's a new way for you to prepare for a
comfortable retirement . . . it's called "IRA,"
Individual Retirement Account, now available from
American Savings. - Under new Federal law, you
can now put away up to 15% of your annual
wages or $1,500 (whichever is less) in an IRA —
and deduct the entire amount on your income tax
return. In addition, interest earned on your IRA
is tax-sheltered until you retire.

And, because your dollars are tax-sheltered, you
can build up a surprisingly large retirement fund.

The only requirements needed to qualify are
these: One, you must receive compensation for
services rendered during the tax year. Two,
you must not have been a participant in another
pension program during the tax year. And
three, you must not-have yet reached age 70 1/2.

American can also show you a plan you may use if
you leave a job where you are participating in a
pension fund. That distribution can be transferred
to an American Savings' IRA tax deferred.
