Rabbi Moshe Feinstein, dean of Mesifta Tifereth Jerusalem and a member of the presidium of Agudath Israel, addressing the din- ner meeting of Agudath Is- rael of America, called on Jews everywhere "to face the current trying times with a rededication to the ancient values of Judaism, set forth in the ancient Torah." Gov. Hugh Carey of New York, responding to his being bestowed with the 1975 Humanitarian Award - Rabbi Marc H. Tanen- baum, national director of interreligious affairs for the American Jewish Commit- tee, will deliver the annual Daniel M. and Sophie Hass Memorial Lecture 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Temple Israel. Similarly, he has achieved prominence in the Jewish community as March 17, 1975 • Detroit Friends of Shaare Zedek c/o Mr. Alex Roberg 13128 Wales Street Huntington Woods, Michigan U.S.A. Dear Friends: From Jerusalem I should like to send you the greetings of the Shaare Zedek Family who are engaged daily in caring for the sick and in building for the future needs of our community. We hope that the forthcoming May 26th Dinner of The Detroit Friends will be a great success and will accelerate the realization of your $100,000 project for the endowment of the Dialysis Unit in the new Medical Center. As you know, the whole world is troubled by the present economic situation which also affects Israel very much and its institutions particularly. Because of the tremendous rise in costs for all services, commodities and building materials, your help is more urgently needed than ever before. Without the support of our friends we shall not be able to maintain our day to day work on its high medical level, nor will we be able to complete our new Medical Center which is such a vital necessity for our growing city. I am pleased to inform you that the superstructure of the main hospital- ization complex has been completed and work is now going on to partition and finish the inside. Your project is located in this building, and I hope that any of our Detroit Friends touring Israel will give us the • pleasure of showing them the impressive new buildings. 16 Our new facilities will make a tremendous contribution to Jerusalem's health services, and we are happy that Detroit is participating in this vital project. The Dialysis Unit whick- you are helping to erect is a costly undertaking, but you will have the satisfaction of knowing that human lives are saved daily, thanks to your help and the advance of modern medicine. We sincerely appreciate your friendship and support, and wish you every success in your endeavors. Sincerely yours, David M. Maeir Director General - NEW CADILLAC?
