Inter-Faith Dialogues Valid

Editor, The Jewish News,
There has been much dis-
cussion in Jewish periodi-
cals relative to the validity
of inter-faith dialogue.

Haber Views
Jewish History

NEW YORK — Stepping
1 after 25 years as pres-
- of the American ORT
Federation, Dr. William
Haber, former dean of the
University of Michigan, de-
scribed the past quarter
century as being filled with
more history than any other
similar period in the 5,000
year span of the Jewish peo-
ple.
Dr. Haber said that there
is "nothing comparable in
Jewish history to the migra-
tion of 2.5 million Jews dur-
ing the post World War II
era."

What one loses today one.
may gain tomorrow.

ish. Chautauqua Society for
the Temple Israel Brother-
hood, I have lectured to
hundreds of . non-Jewish
groups and we have a visit-
ing group at our services
almost every Shabat.
The following is a note
from one of the teachers at
a Catholic school who re-
cently visited us:

"Thank you so much for
all you did for the children
from Eastside Vicariate
yesterday. Your patience
and understanding were
outstanding. I am a Chris-
tian who knows our roots
are deep in Judaism and I
feel that the Passover
seder is a big part of my
Easter -happiness. May
you and your family have a
happy and blessed Pas-
sover and may we all live
to see peace in Jerusa-
lem."

From my experience, the
inter-faith dialogues work
and should be encouraged.
