Dr. Haim Hamiel, direc- tor general of the World Zionist Organization's reli- gious education depart- ment, said that without the support of Israeli educators, Jewish education in the Diaspora could not survive. He said that currently about 270 Israeli teachers serve 1,000 Jewish commu- nities world-wide.
