Charlotte Stein, national
president of Pioneer Women
in the U.S., announced the
organization will devote all-
out efforts during Interna-
tional Woman's Year to in-
sure that every wOinan in Is-
rael is trained for a vocation
that will permit her to ob-
tain gainful, productive
employment if she wishes.
Speaking concurrently in
Israel, Mrs. Tamar Eshel,
general secretary of the
Moetzet Hapoalot/Pioneer
Women, told more than 600
leaders of the women's so-
. cial service organization,
that Israeli women must be
prepared to work for their
own independence, to enh-
ance their family's living
standards and to participate
in building a viable national
• economy.

marked trend among Arab
and Druze women to learn
trades and secure employ-
ment.

Pepper Pike, Ohio, an-
nounce the engagement of
their daughter Carol Hope
to Harley Goldstein, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Gold-
stein of Shaker Heights,
Ohio.
Miss Petok attended the
University of Michigan,
where-she was affiliated
with Sigma Delta Tau So-
rority; American University
and Case Western Reserve
University, from which she
will graduate in December.

Her fiance attended
Washington University in
St. Louis, where he was vice
president of Sigma Alpha
• Mq Fraternity and was
graduated from Case West-
ern. He plans to attend law
school.
